Chai the Samurai Review

Source: Product Description
Chai the Samurai is a modernized version of Jack and the Beanstalk that takes place in a fictional Japan and involves Samurai warriors, dragons, a chipmunk, and magical acorns. It is an inspirational story about overcoming evil and difficulties while increasing younger students’ vocabulary and introducing them to a few Japanese words and numbers, which are in bold for convenience and emphasis; their pronunciation and definitions are included at the end of the book along with recommended web sites.
Ten home school students, Kayla Ates, Chelsea Baranski, Madeline Edwards, Micah Edwards, Jarrod Hamm, Victoria Herring, Ben Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Kenny Leon and Kristen Power, created this story with their writing coach, Giselle Ates, during their TESA creative writing classes in January and February of 2008. An illustrated version is also available in paperback.
