1 Person found this review helpful, So Far
I've read almost two thirds of book. It is very interesting and reinforces the concept of a greatly improved life through the art of positive thinking. The book is repetitive, which is good for people like me. It's almost as if the author wants one to ingest the idea firmly into ones mind through osmosis. It concerns me a little that, although the bible is quoted often, one gets the feeling that if life can be controlled by the subconscious mind, why do we need to pray? Definitely a helpful book but one needs to keep a sense of balance between man and God.

3 People found this review helpful, Misleading With No Scientific Evidence
I was looking for something scientific about the subconscious mind. What I found was religious and misleading. None of the things that are said in this book were backed up with any scientific evidence.

Of all the books I have ever read, this is The best. It is the best because it goes straight to the core of YOU and opens your mind to the amazing abilities we have as human beings that most of us are so out of touch with. I love how he says that any answer we will ever need lies within us. This is a BEST KEPT SECRET and I am so grateful I know this secret, the secret to a wonderful life.
This is some powerful stuff and your life will change for the BETTER.
At first I was a bit skeptical but once I opened the book and opened my mind, I couldnt put it down. I just love reading in at night right before bed and I have the most peaceful and rejuvinating sleep when I do.
I have purchased multiple copies of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and given them as gifts to close loved ones. They have all told me that the book is simply GREAT and how it has changed their lives completely, and put them on the right path.
I highly recommend this book if you have ever questioned your abilities, your reasons for being 'here', your purpose, or yourself. Dont just read it once, read it over and over again. Highlight it, take notes, quote it. This book is amazing. You will not regret your decision.

4 People found this review helpful, The Same Uncertainty Remains
Joseph Murphy's book on the power of the subconscious mind is well written and studded with case studies in support of his claim that people can perform miracles if only they 'believe'. Now that's a strange word because belief is liable to change over time depending on the changes in the behavior pattern of both the subject and the object. If human beings are extremely cautious and reserved in believing his social counterpart in day to day interaction how can he put his unreserved faith on a 'substance' of things hoped for.
It is true that subconscious mind is the seat of emotions but then again men's inner world is too complex and too vast and nobody knows how and where these reactions would land him into. There is no deterministic pattern to achieve a thing through sheer belief. Even the very author in question cannot duplicate his previous success by relying on his subconscious power. It is difficult to experience a situation that one has not previously encountered. Mere repetition of a lullaby 'wealth' is no guarantee that one would be wealthy. Likewise, the quality of leadership to run a country can't be developed through such practices and Joesph Nye's book on leadership suggests some practical measures to that effect.
Nevertheless, this is an outstanding book in developing positive attitude so needed in a tension ridden contemporary world.
