“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi.
“I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.” ~ John D. Rockefeller. Â
Quitting smoking is a very popular New Year’s resolution. It reflects the desire of most smokers to become non-smokers. It reflects the fact that most smokers are aware that smoking is really very bad for their health and the health of their family, friends and co-workers.
I myself had that same resolution to quit smoking…for several years in a row :)Â In fact, I had that resolution to quit smoking many months in a row too :)Â It took me several attempts before I was successful at quitting smoking. Each attempt was in fact a practice attempt.
Step by Step instructions on how to Quit Smoking
I often wished that someone would have written out step by step instructions on how to successfully quit smoking. It would have made my success at quitting come a lot sooner and it would have been a lot less painful - knowing that once I followed those quit smoking instructions, I would succeed and all the struggle would pay off with a smoke free lifestyle at the end.Â
So when I started this website, I took the opportunity to write those instructions on how to successfully quit smoking.
My Quit Smoking statistics
It is not easy to quit smoking but it becomes easier as time passes. January 2nd 2007 will be a full 5 years since I last smoked a cigarette. Back in the days when I smoked two packs a day, I never thought I would be free of it. But I could never have imagined how sweet freedom tastes and smells. I would not smoke another cigarette for all the gold in the world. Being able to take a clear deep breath is one of the best riches I could imagine.
Quitting Smoking teaches Personal Development
But even better than being free of nicotine and smoke, was the confidence I found in myself. Once I was able to conquer the nicodemon and quit smoking, I realized that I could use those same techniques to conquer any challenges. Today, whenever I am faced with a challenge I always think to myself “Well, I quit smoking one step at a time so I can beat this challenge one step at a time too.â€
In deciding to quit smoking you are making not just a great move for your health, but also a great move for your personal development.

Persist and determine to succeed. Success is inevitable once you refuse to give up.
“It is not enough to begin; continuance is necessary. Mere enrollment will not make one a scholar; the pupil must continue in the school through the long course, until he masters every branch. Success depends upon staying power. The reason for failure in most cases is lack of perseverance.” ~ Miller.
